Laura Wumbler

Laura Wellington is a 40 year old widow, mother of 4 and CEO of five companies all operating simultaneously and flawlessly.

Laura suffered a tragedy when she lost her husband to cancer a few short years ago. Through the grief and the unhappiness Laura returned to a hobby of hers since she was 15. The Wumblers is Laura's way of working through her despair and helping her family bounce back and take on a brand new adventure. Laura's faith and need to give something back to her community and the legacy of her husband inspired her to take The Wumblers to the forefront. Laura wanted to bring a new level to children's entertainment by not just creating an educational show where children can learn what is right and what is wrong, but to enlighten children to the positive values of responsibility, caring, family and community values and most importantly that diversity and differences should be embraced.

Laura has become a voice and an ear for women not only who have experienced a tragedy and are looking for a way to overcome, but for women in business who are trying to succeed. She recently was honored with The Forbes Enterprise Award and the Top 50 Women in Business for the State of New Jersey. The night she accepted that award among 49 other amazing women who all have made a difference in their community, family life and overall business sector she shared the evening with her eleven year old daughter. She wanted her daughter to see that women can achieve great honors in life with perseverance and commitment to a goal.

The Wumblers represents to Laura a triumph a way to give back after realizing she has been given the greatest gift of all, to live.

Laura believes her story is ordinary and unfortunately all too common. The way she dealt with it and what has come from it is the extraordinary part. Women call Laura after reading an article about her and ask for advice. They want to talk to someone who defied the odds and who turned their life around at the most tumultuous time. Laura runs into women on the weekends when getting a manicure who recognize her from a magazine and can't believe how unassuming she is and ordinary. Laura is ordinary in appearance, but her heart and soul bring an angel like feel to her and all those who come in contact with her. Laura has a very demanding lifestyle with four children and running multiple companies, but she always has time for a chat or to listen when someone reaches out with a problem or to share something phenomenal.

The Wumblers will begin airing in the Fall of 2007 on Trinity Broadcasting and Smile of A Child networks.

Laura took a childhood hobby and turned it into an inspirational, preschool series that after only a short time was given a broadcasting deal. This is quite unheard of in the children's entertainment industry. Laura is using this opportunity to really give back to families and children worldwide. Her main message throughout this series is differences unite, not divide. We are all one world with one goal to be the best we can be for ourselves and each other.

The Giddy Gander Company has also teamed up with The National Watermelon Association to help promote healthy eating and show that nutrition can be fun. They also are partnering with Gilda's Club Worldwide, families living with cancer in order to give back to an organization that is so greatly important to the emotional and mental well being of families going through this illness within their own family.

Through a nationwide art contest we invited children to submit original drawings with an end result being a published picture book where a percentage of the proceeds will go directly to Gilda's Club. This is our way of showing children that you are never too young to give back to your community and those around you to make the world a better place!
